Ten-year sentences for Ohara and Nagano in Manslaughter case

In Port Hs singleton the Assize Court concluded Japanese trials over the death of Jack Pittman. Ohara and Nagano were found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to ten years each by His Lordship Mr Justice Macdonald. Komeda received a suspended sentence for assault with intent.

Inquest Held Into Death of Garnet MacPherson

The inquest into Garnet MacPherson's death opened yesterday with a jury including J Y Rochester as foreman and F J Bowness Geo Hill Martin O Reilly Max Heilbroner and D J Corley. A handkerchief sale is planned for December 11 at the Methodist Church basement with a musical program and refreshments.
