A 1933 Tilley Otten buldings removal cleared space for off street parking. A large cold storage box and boiler were moved from the site to Willis Carter property after a wall was removed. Two Michigan loaders loaded the box onto a city truck.
Franklin county taxpayers may see a small tax cut as the 1968 levy total drops to 3.68 from 3.70. The breakdown shows increases in airport and fair operation funds while charity and indigent as well as current expense and county school funds decline. Cemetery levies also shift with Franklin dropping five cents and Cleveland rising ten cents. Local allocations by communities list Oxford City General Property at 3.68 and School District No. 202 at 4.55, totaling 9.83.
The Franklin School PTA will hold a membership meeting tonight at the Franklin School at 8 p.m. Their guest speaker will be Dr. Robert L. Jensen of Logan.
Keith Clayson administrative assistant in the Cache County school system was named bishop of the Preston First ward on Sunday. He succeeds LaGrand Burton, who led the ward for seven years, with Vernon Klippert and Nathan Hale Jr named as counselors to Bishop Clayson.
Preston High will present the operetta Oklahoma as its all time favorite show in November. The cast features Shelley Hart Shannon, Jay Jensen, Peggy Belnap, Debbie Atkinson, Joe Cherrington, Kathy Nelson, Vickie Evans, Pere Hodges, array Knapp, Kathy Hansen and other students. Directors Hoffmann and Delmar Derricott will lead the production marking the show’s 25th anniversary.

Seven Franklin county men were named Monday to serve on an information committee for a proposed nursing home and hospital remodeling project. The Franklin County Commission and Lions Club plan a 600000 bond election to finance the project.
An open house is planned Saturday at the Franklin County Republican headquarters with local candidates present to greet voters. The event runs from 1 pm to 6 pm in a former American Food building, with refreshments provided and candidates including Reed and Arlando Larsen among those attending.
