Idaho Civic Forces Endorse Three Ballot Measures

The Idaho Allied Civic Forces backed three measures to curb social ills. The Antic Gambling Act would end slot machine racketeering and gambling. The Idaho Sobriety Act aims to curb liquor abuse and graft, and the Local Option Prohibition Act would let localities decide liquor store policy. Opponents focus on the Local Option measure, attacking the others. The opposition fundraising includes 1000 liquor clubs and 2000 slot operators paying dues, with estimates of up to 75,000 dollars from National Distillers, totaling potentially over 250,000.
