Weeds in Idaho Show Increase in 4 H Study
The study of weeds by Idaho 4 H members on farms shows a sharp rise in 1949. Interest is strongest in southeastern counties and is growing elsewhere, praised by Eugene W Whitman extension agronomist and Idaho noxious weed association secretary. Thirty one week books prepared by 4 H members were displayed at the Eastern Idaho State fair in Blackfoot, from Franklin Bannock Bingham Bonneville and Clark counties. Darrel Gamble 11 of the Jolly Weeders club Preston won first in weed identification. Owen Gibson Preston led one group. H G Meecham county weed supervisor for Bingham assisted club leaders.

Gilbert Hull and Mr and Mrs Clair Hull and children from Los Angeles visited Mr and Mrs Leroy Hull. Mrs Joseph Moser hosted the Variety club with a full course dinner and fall flowers for Halloween. Mrs Woodrow Winward and Rhonda Poole won prizes. Glen Bodily and family from Burley visited Mr and Mrs Bodily. Richard Kastler from Salt Lake City and DeWitt Swainston spoke at Sunday sacrament meeting.
