The annual harvest banquet, sponsored by the Preston Chamber of Commerce agriculture committee and supervised by the American Legion and Auxiliary, will be held Thursday Nov 8 at 7 30 p.m. in Oneida Stakehouse. Ob Johnson Dies of Heart Attack at Downata
Ob Johnson 59 died at his Downata home early Wednesday of a heart attack. He was born May 9 1897 in Preston. Survivors include his wife and several children and grandchildren. Funeral services are set for 1 pm Saturday in Downey ward chapel with burial in Richmond Cemetery.

Darrell Henry Drury 34 a Fairview Utah stockman died early Tuesday in a Salt Lake City hospital after illness following a blood transfusion. He was a Holstein farmer with his father Henry Drury and served as an elder in Fairview ward. He leaves his widow Evelyn Jenkins and three children, plus eight siblings. Burial in Fairview Cemetery.

Holstein Herds Classified by Association In 1929
The Holstein-Friesian Association of America announced official type classification results from a program run by J A Wair child of Berwick PA. Sixty four animals in Franklin county herds were inspected. Alma Choules herd had seven cows classified four times. Henry Drury Sons had 29 cows with twelve good and six good plus. Jessop of Dayton had ten animals with five classified as good or better. Preston route one Holstein farm had 13 cows with five very good and six good plus. The Drury herd was classified nine times and the Talbot herd four times. Continued on page 4.

16 year old Preston youth wins sixth in arc welding contest
Stephen Noyes aged 16 son of Mr and Mrs Von O Noyes of Preston Route 2 earned sixth prize of 25 dollars in the national arc welding contest for farm high school students sponsored by the James F Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation of Cleveland Ohio. He entered last year as a Preston High School sophomore with a chopped hay wagon project powered by a tractor PTO. The project cost 74 60 and is valued at 450, fabricated at the school shop under vocational agriculture instruction, and he has been active in 4 H and FFA with dairy focus. He rents 6 5 acres for a field beet crop this year.
