Mr and Mrs Fred Anderson and their daughter and family attended the Utah State Fair in Salt Lake City. Mrs Joyce Bennett led the Relief Society work day with quilting and handwork. Dee Andreasen and wife moved their son LeGrande to Rexburg for school. Anna Mae Wilde stayed with grandchildren while Howard Harris family vacationed in Washington. Ray Wilker hosted Charles Legg from Salt Lake City for a weekend visit. Ruth McGregor was discharged from Preston hospital and stayed with daughter Owen Clegg in Niter. Lloyd Bennett and Hannah Smith spent two days cleaning and baking in Grace.
Elder Howard W. Hunter and Elder Le Roy A. Wirthlin spoke at the Bannock stake quarterly conference in Grace on Sept. 23 24 with Pres. Dee L. Andreasen conducting. Dinner was served by the third quorum of elders led by James Benson. Grace High School held a homecoming football win over Bancroft, while locals attended events and visits in Preston and Logan.
Honored on their 50th wedding anniversary, the couple and three children Russell Thompson Falls Mont Horace Thatcher and Mrs Larue Treasure Washington D C received many congratulatory cards and gifts. The community and family gatherings included visits from relatives and neighbors as they shared celebrations and well wishes.
Banida residents attended temple sessions in Logan on September 21 including Mr and Mrs Golden Geddes E A Swann and Cecil Miles among others. The report lists many church activities from Junior and Senior Sunday School talks to 4 H sewing shows and social plans, plus several local visits, births, and college reentries.
Oxford Mr and Mrs Ernest Olson departed Monday to Lewiston to visit son Wesley Olson and his family. Mrs LaVerl Kendall left Wednesday for Salt Lake City to spend a few days with daughter Glenda Nelson and son in law Jesse Nelson and help with the new grandson.
