Expect 75 cents per pound for dress birds in 1949, with 55 to 60 cents for New York dressed. Plan one pound per person, a 20 pound bird for 20 guests, and cook about 25 minutes per pound, browning a 15 pound turkey in five to six hours at 275 degrees.
