Lions Sponsor Clinic at Oakwood Elementary School
Preston Lions Club with PTA and the health nurse ran an amblyopia clinic for about 80 kindergarten children on November 1. A follow up event for three to five year olds is planned for November 8 in the school lunchroom. Lady Lions and volunteers will test more youngsters at West Side. Dennis Brown leads the committee with Wayne Brown Jay McKenzie Milton Cutler Michael Kunz and Dr David Cutler as members.

Music by Dianne Belen and Lois Evans, poems by Ada Almond, and a ghostly visit by goblins closed the day.

Estella Geddes Paton 83 died October 31 at Preston Nursing Home of natural causes. Born March 18 1885 in Preston she married Jacob Alonzo Paton in 1908. Survived by five children Stewart G Blanche Ondahl Erma Phinney Donna Lawson and Elva Dursteler plus 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral held Saturday in Preston Second ward with burial in Preston Cemetery.
