Elder's Quorum Holds Party in Preston Halloween Supper
The Fourth Elders Quorum of Preston's Second Ward hosted a Halloween chicken supper on Friday October 26. Pres. and Mrs Wallace Jensen attended, representing the stake presidency. The Elders Quorum officers are President Oscar Almond, Arthur Dursteler as first counselor, Mark Checketts as second counselor, and Royal Austin as secretary.

Girl Athletics Host Malad Play Day Visit
The GAA joined a Play Day in Preston on October 24 with thirteen Malad girls supervised by Miss Sally Smith arriving at 10 30 a m. They paired with Preston girls under Miss Virginia Thompson and played softball soccer and basketball. Lunch and an assembly followed before departure at 1 45 p m. Earthquake Damages 90 Percent of Richmond Homes
The Richmond quake damaged about 90 percent of homes in the city per TV program statistics. Mayor Ross Plant and three University of Utah professors discussed 61 intensity, 17 condemned houses, and roughly 34 with little or no damage. Dayton Pioneer Evlyn Pratt Griffeth Dies at 81
Evalyn Pratt Griffeth 81 a Dayton area resident and early Utah pioneer died October 29 1962 at her home near Preston from age related causes. She was born October 13 1881 Meadowville Utah daughter of Moroni Pratt and Mary Churey granddaughter of Parley P Pratt married to George A Griffeth June 6 1901 in the Logan Temple. Funeral services will be held November 1 1962 at 1 p.m. in the Dayton Ward LDS Chapel with burial in Dayton Cemetery. Burial details and viewing at Webb Mortuary Preston matched public notices and church roles follow.

Richmond Teen Breaks Arm In Football Practice
Peck Taylor suffered a left arm fracture just above the wrist during a high school football practice. Local officials reported the injury occurred in a routine drill and Taylor has begun receiving medical care at the school clinic.

Mr and Mrs Delmer Olson visited Friday in Lewiston at the home of her mother Mrs Lawrence Baird.
