Slow Moving Vehicle Law Explained
Farm tractors and implements on highways are exempt from the vehicle inspection law and trucks may be exempt under certain conditions. State Patrolman Dean Gunnell notes that farm trucks declared slow moving vehicles may operate in daylight up to 25 mph and must pull over for traffic. Tractors and implements must display the slow moving sign, and farm machinery may run up to 35 mph under the law with front amber lights, rear red lights, and a pilot car at night.

Many Preston firms plan a three day weekend with Saturday closures. Memorial Day Friday sees most stores shut, while new car dealers, implement dealers, and lumber yards will also be closed Saturday. The Preston Citizen will be closed Saturday as well.

Cache County arrests seniors on beer charges near Cove
Thirteen Preston high school seniors were arrested by the Cache County sheriff's office early Tuesday near Cove. They were charged with possession of beer. Three were jailed. the rest released to their parents.

County Offices Shuffled as Remodeling Wraps Up
County offices rearranged as the county agent moves into remodeled two thirds of the 50 day hall, the sheriff takes over the old agent space, and the assessor expands into the sheriff’s former area. The project, finished about two weeks ago, provides a large inner office and several private offices including spaces for two agents, the home extension agent, and Ed Duren from Soda Springs part time.
