Fruit Crop In Idaho Is Favored
Nearly all Idaho fruits were blooming on May 1 with apples near full bloom by late May. Early maturing varieties passed peak bloom while cherries had mostly finished their peak and suffered little frost damage. Overall prospects indicate a heavy crop despite a late season. Temperatures in April touched danger levels at times but caused no major frost losses. Sweet cherries stood at 92 percent of normal and sour cherries at 90 percent.
