West Side Girls Fashion Show at West Side High

Mothers and friends attended a West Side High School fashion show by the home economics department on May 7. Junior and senior girls modeled sportswear dress-up and best wear ensembles while Kandis Coburn played background music and Marlon Viehweg sang. Lila McKay served as general chairwoman.

Trustees to Be Elected Next Tuesday in Eastside District

Nominees for Eastside School District 201 trustee positions in zones 3 and 4 were filed by the deadline last Wednesday. Incumbents Darrel R. Wold and Leon Forsgren for zone 3, and Phenoi H. Edgley and Allen Fisher for zone 4, seek election as voters from Riverdale Winder Banida Treasureton and Preston’s west side cast ballots at designated polling sites from 3 to 8 p.m. Members must be Idaho electors residing in the district with parentage or guardianship of a child under 21 as a qualification.

Budget Hearing Set for Eastside School District Plan

A budget hearing for Eastside School District 201 is scheduled next Monday at 8 p m in the high school auditorium. The proposed budget totals 548 484 47, about 39 379 higher than last year, with 23 000 for teachers salaries and 16 000 for non certified staff and supplies. The district expects about 27 000 more from a state increase and must raise roughly 12 000 locally, via a school plant facilities fund levy of up to five mills for five years to balance the budget.
