Reclamation project nears completion amid large scale water plans
The Boise River dam project aims to irrigate about 290 000 acres in the Boise area with water from Anderson Dam and a planned seven mile tunnel to the Payette unit. Proposals include a 30 mile tunnel or a 50 mile aqueduct to deliver surplus Payette river basin water to northern parts of the project. Hog lice and mange are widespread with warm weather and require benzene hexachloride spray. Entomologist H C Manis details a two pound per 100 gallon mix, high pressure spraying, and targeted treatment for ears and skin folds to control infestations.
