Seventh Annual Quality Corner Holstein Sale at Franklin County Fair

The Seventh Annual Quality Corner Invitational Holstein sale at Franklin County Fairgrounds starts Saturday at noon. Miles Geddes of Banida leads the event with 40 head of registered springer heifers and calves from consignors across Star Valley Wyoming, Northern Utah, and Southern Idaho. Pedigreed entries include three generation Holstein-Friesian reports from Brattleboro and national offices.

Elder Joseph Anderson to Visit Weekend Stake Conference

Elder Joseph Anderson assistant to the Council of Twelve Apostles will speak at the Preston South Stake Conference at 213 South Second East. Sessions are Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. Invitations extend to stake leadership, ward officers, Seventies and all 18 year old Elders and Priests. Anderson, born 1889 in Salt Lake City, has long served in the First Presidency and as church secretary and recorder.

Eastside Board to Meet on Bond Plans for High School Additions

Eastside School District trustees convene Tuesday night at 8 to discuss bonding attorneys and certifying the recent election. Dr. Orson Bowler notes changes to the schematic for the new high school addition including widening the band room and reconfiguring drafting and practice spaces.

Marie Lindhardt Suffers Stroke and Hospitalization

Marie Lindhardt, The Citizen society writer, suffered a stroke Tuesday morning and is hospitalized at Franklin County Hospital. Her Sociable Citizen column will not appear this week as she rests and remains in fair to good condition.

Thirteen Seniors Named PHS Honor Graduates

Thirteen Preston High School seniors were named honor graduates for the May 23 commencement in the school gym. The students, comprising 10 percent of the class, will present the graduation program themed Time: Today May Fade But Tomorrow Is Eternal with advisor Kent Christensen. Bicentennial Plans Move Forward In Franklin County

Franklin County plans for the Bicentennial advance with a committee meeting set for Wednesday at 8 p m the county court house to push the celebration forward. About 31 members of the county advisory committee are expected to attend to discuss Heritage 76 Festival 76 and Horizons 76 and how to manage them in the 1976 observance. Idaho Days is proposed for June through August spanning 30 days next year.

Clean Up Drive Kicks Off Monday in Preston

Franklin County launches a year long bicentennial clean up and beautification drive led by Lynn Fackrell and Ver Auger with city and county crews. Debris removal begins in Preston Monday with additional district efforts planned for north and south Oneida street areas.
