The California Packing Co seeks more acreage of peas and string beans in Franklin County as late winter snow and soaked soil delay planting. Burton Blamires says planting time is here and fieldmen will visit. So far 1600 acres of peas are contracted with a need for 200 more. beans contracts are smaller but promising.

Dr Roy H Fisher a former Oxford resident and Oakland California physician died of a heart attack at his Oakland home. He was born March 1883 in Oxford and trained at Utah State Agricultural College and University of Colorado medical school. Survived by wife two sons in Oakland a daughter in Maryland and siblings in Oxford Oakland and Rigby.

The Preston baseball club announces its entry into the Utah-Idaho league with members being organized for the summer. Road to Montpelier Remains Closed to Traffic
The road to Montpelier over the Strawberry Sharon route is still closed. M D Bradshaw of the U S bureau of public roads said numerous drivers have attempted to cross and been forced to turn back. It will be several weeks before the road is passable across the range into Bear Lake county. He will notify The Citizen when the Strawberry highway opens.

Fantasy in Wood carving exhibit by Erven Gubler comes to Preston
An exhibit titled Fantasy in Wood by Erven C. Gubler of Salt Lake City, winner of a Los Angeles show and valued at 50000, will tour Preston May 8 to 10 at the old Rexall Drug building. Sponsored by East Side PTA, schoolchildren ride buses in free school hours, adults pay a small fee. The four by five foot scene depicts Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in yellow popular, lit by a revolving light, hand carved over eight years, with Disney connections and a pending permanent display at Springdale near Zion Canyon.
