Half Million Acre Feet Unconsumed From Bear River
About 500000 acre feet of Bear River water flow into the Great Salt Lake as unconsumed water. Idaho contributes roughly 300000 acre feet with the rest from Utah and Wyoming. The Idaho Water Resources Board study notes potential development with possible state or federal projects and may involve compensation to Utah Power and Light if rights are subordinated. The plan hinges on Bear River Compact guidance and county irrigation assessments.
