Franklin County May 1944 Commissioners Minutes
Franklin County Board of Commissioners met May 8 1944 with Chairman Shrives and Commissioners Greaves Olsen and Clerk Beason present. A Linrose drain committee sought county aid and the board agreed to contribute 10000 to the project. Contracts were set with Hyrum Jepson for Mink Creek gravel and road work. Recreation funding for juveniles was discussed with a one third share about 175 dollars from the county, and Preston City and Independent School District No 1 matched. Various tax deed and contract adjustments were approved including refunds and deeds. Elections judges were appointed for Franklin County precincts for 1944 45. May 17 1944 session approved salary report 1944 planning board appointed with Harley Greaves liaison. Deeds issued for completed contracts and extensions granted including Lyman Baxter with mortgage condition. Deputies salaries increased. Meeting adjourned.
