Missionary Returns Home From Canadian Mission

Bond election carries for West Side School funds
A special election on July 1 approved a 26 500 bond issue for West Side school district No 202 to equip Dayton buildings with a farm shop music room and repairs. The plan includes a 60 by 100 foot cinder block farm shop. Weston voters face a separate bond vote for 22 000 to upgrade the waterworks system next Tuesday.

Ralph Knight of the University of Idaho Agricultural Experiment Station in Aberdeen has scheduled the Franklin County field day for July 25. Vaughn Taylor announced Weston has completed plans for an all day Pioneer Day celebration on Monday July 24. A 9:30 a.m. parade will launch activities followed by a patriotic meeting at 10:30 and an afternoon of sports and a Preston versus Cornish ball game at 3:30. Three Changes In Personnel At Soil Conservation Office
Three personnel moves were announced at the soil conservation office headquartered in the Larson building. Harry C. Ames was named agricultural engineer and George Woodruff became soil scientist. Mrs Raquel Harris was appointed clerk typist replacing Mrs Marian Wiser who resigned. Mr Ames arrives from Moscow Idaho where he taught and did graduate work at the University of Idaho. His background includes work with the Public Roads Administration in Utah and a year as agricultural engineer with the Soil Conservation Service at Morgan Utah. His wife Wyla and two children Louise and Harry have joined him in the new residence with Miss Martha Geddes. Woodruff transfers from Jerome to Preston as soil scientist to lead conservation surveys. Crash Friday Two Drivers Cited After Minor Collision
Friday evening at 8 15 at the corner of Second East and First South streets a minor accident involved two autos. Dockstader traveling east did not stop at a sign and struck Doris Porter’s car, both vehicles colliding twice. No injuries reported though damage was heavy. Dockstader cited for running a stop sign and Porter cited for driving without a license.

Pre rodeo Festivities Begin with Wardrobe Rules
Pre rodeo events start Saturday with a dress code for business people to wear western attire and for men to grow beards. Those not complying may be fined one dollar and receive a rodeo tie.
