Clifford Hope to Retire After 20 Years in Congress
In Washington Rep Clifford R Hope plans voluntary retirement to Garden City Kansas after 20 years in Congress. A leading farm legislator he chaired the House Agriculture Committee in 1949 50 and 53 54 and shaped much farm policy. A portrait was unveiled in the committee room with praise from Chairman Harold Gooley for his service to American farmers.
