Spokane Man To Speak At Land Bank Meeting
Fred A. Knutsen president of the Federal Land Bank of Spokane will be keynote speaker at the Preston association annual membership meeting. The event gathers stockholders from Bannock Bear Lake Caribou Franklin and Oneida counties for registration at 11 a.m. and a noon dinner. The meeting covers agricultural credit and real estate costs with two director seats up for election for Albert E. Moser and Karl G Ballif.

Primary Hosts Children Christmas Party at Ward Chapel
Clifton Monday afternoon the Primary held a Christmas party at the ward chapel with President June Gailey in charge. A short Christmas play and music directed by Mrs. Dorma McCulloch featured Irene Kendall and Christie Kendall at the piano. Santa Claus visited the junior Sunday school room for singing dancing and candy and nuts for all the children.

Franklin Ward Hosts Gold and Green Ball With Silver Bells Theme
Franklin ward held its annual Gold and Green Ball Friday under MIA Laurel class leadership led by RaNae Earley. A junior Preston High trio sang Silver Bells and Home For The Holidays as part of the floor show. 18 youths performed dance numbers directed by Royal McFarland Sharon Dunkley and others.
County Home Demonstration Council Outlines Year Plan
Franklin County Home Demonstration Council met January 8 with Mrs Daniel Roberts presiding. The group outlined a year of safety and civil defense programs health eight day project and health measures. Additional meetings include knitting and stewing classes for potential 4-H leaders. Project leaders present included Mrs Lee Bergquist Mrs Don Bergquist Mrs Cyril Maughan Mrs Glen Gamble Mrs Glen Nelson Mrs Vern Cole Mrs Morris Poole and Mrs Roberts. Guest home demonstration agent Miss Marjorie Robinson from New Mexico attended.
