Ex Preston Postmaster Wells McEn tire 80 died after brief illness Saturday in Preston hospital. Born Sept 15 1888 in Harrisville Weber County to John Thomas and Josephine Witten McEntire. Survived by widow five sons and four daughters and numerous grandchildren. Funeral held Tuesday at Onida LDS Stake center Preston with pallbearers and honorary escorts.

Two Students End Correspondent Study at TEC
Misses Karen Cole and Lu Ann Viehweg of Preston recently completed a correspondence based program at Automation Training Inc a TEC division in St Louis MO. They underwent terminal training including classroom work and hands on machine practice focusing on lab wiring and computer programming. Local People Hurt In Wreck Near Farmington
Ben Swann and Mrs. Glenn Swann were injured in a Monday multi vehicle crash near Farmington. He sustained a broken back and head injuries. she suffered two broken ribs. They are in South Davis Hospital, Bountiful. Also in the car was Mrs. Ray Gardner and her daughter, neither hurt. Swann is a former probate judge of Franklin County and recently moved back to Preston from Hawaii.

Two Injured in Head-On Collision Near Preston
Two Preston men received minor injuries after a head-on crash Tuesday. Clayton Allen, 46, suffered rib injuries while Kurt Keller, also 46, sustained a whipped neck when the vehicle he was in struck another car. The second car was driven by Raymond Abeln, 46, of Creswood, Missouri, who crossed into oncoming traffic after failing to navigate a curve near the golf course.

Water outlook favorable in area reports indicate strong snowpack
The Soil Conservation Service reports a very good water outlook for the coming year with snow and water surveys showing above five year averages in places. Willow Flat recorded 42.73 inches of water in 1968 and 85 inches of water in November December, with 33.5 inches of snow by year end and 72 inches water equivalent. Straw berry creek snow course shows 29 inches of snow and five inches water. Glade Moser and Glenn Keller led surveys. over snow travel was difficult due to deep new powder.

Fire Destroys Weston Barn and Stock
A heat lamp started a Sunday fire at Serge Benson’s Weston barn causing about 20 000 dollars in loss. Milking equipment seven calves two horses and stored hay barley and feed were destroyed while the family attended church. Fire Chief Kenneth Heddon said the blaze burned unseen inside before becoming visible. Neighbor Jack Anderson reported the fire.

Voters to decide two district consolidation on Tuesday
Idaho counties set a Tuesday vote on merging Bancroft Soda Springs and Bancroft districts with others. Approval requires majorities in each district and July 1969 start. Governance plans include a five member board, phased trustee terms, and no transfer of Soda Springs indebtedness. Grace district not involved.
