Re enlistment opportunities for veterans with GI benefits
Former servicemen may re enlist in the regular army in grade held at discharge within a 90 day window. A re enlistment bonus of 50 per year of service applies, with 90 day furlough and travel pay if discharge occurs within 90 days. Dependents’ allowances apply for enlistments before July 1 1946. Original enlistments open to men aged 17 to 34 for 1 2 and 3 year terms with education benefits under the GI Bill. A U.S. Army representative will visit the Larson building Preston each Wednesday from 10 30 to 3 to answer questions on enlistments.
