Mr and Mrs Wiley Goodsell of Washington DC visit Weston for the High Priests party at the Weston church house. Mr Goodsell was set apart as bishop of his ward and spoke at the dinner and program. A good crowd attended.
Dr Samuel G Fletcher, born in Preston, will direct a graduate research and instruction program in speech and hearing at Utah State University funded by a 210,066 dollar US Public Health Service grant. Of the total, 42,448 dollars goes to the coming school year, with the rest set aside for four more years. The program aims to meet a critical need for clinicians and scientists in speech pathology and audiology, as enrollments and graduate growth rise.
Mrs Joan Hart was honored Monday evening by the Primary officers and neighbors and friends She received a gift for her new baby daughter and a corsage Sixteen women attended the gathering.
The third Tim ers meeting at Peggy Knudsen’s home on July 11 featured bread making demonstrations by Sue Ann Whittle Nancy Gilbert Peggy Knudsen and Diane Fowers led by Mrs Vera Cole and Mrs Joyce Gilbert. Four H group met at Mrs Daphyne Bergquist's home for their eighth meeting. Janna Christensen led opening prayer, Karen Henderson led pledges. They sang Idaho and planned a party menu and bakery tour. Pancakes were prepared and served with Karma Bergquist demonstrating syrup.
Mr and Mrs Fric Hollands of Bellflower and their daughter Tina are visiting Tina Jensen and her family in California.
Asa Bodily traveled to Salt Lake City on Saturday to reunite with his son Brett who has just come back from a mission in South Africa.
The Jenkins family prepares a 13 000 mile archaeological trip from the United States into Mexico and through Guatemala and British Honduras to study ruins. Mr Jenkins and his wife Wanda will be joined by son Jim for a four to six week educational program using 16mm and 34mm film and slides. They will present findings in Utah, Wyoming and Idaho and aim to enrich their educational programs with material from Teotihuacan Monte Alban Palanqueh Palenque and other sites.
