Dedication of Albany Mormon chapel marks milestone
Ezra Taft Benson addressed 459 Latter-day Saints at Albany 404 Partridge St as the Albany branch of the church dedicated its chapel. Prof. Cliff S. Barton led the branch as president for eight years, with church officials and local residents praising fundraising efforts that included a farm profit program and non Mormon support. The temple at 404 Partridge St became the permanent home after Temple Israel sold the building in 1954, with dedication delayed until fully paid.
