Gopher Control Demonstration Planned at Preston Farm
A mechanical burrow maker and bait applicator for pocket gopher control will be demonstrated at Wendell Bosworth farm on Preston south city limits Friday at 1:30 p.m. County Agent De Vere Tovey reports the machine burrows to deposit bait at set depths, replacing trapping and hand baiting with an estimated 60 cents per acre bait cost. It suits alfalfa, pasture and grain stands and should be used when soils are workable and moist enough for burrow stability.
