Maximum profit not yield the goal of weed control
Monetary and sentimental values shape weed control decisions for farmers and applicators. Experts urge focusing on maximum return per acre rather than yield, noting high yield does not always equal high profit. Research on plant responses to new chemicals is needed, while old methods remain essential, especially for Canada thistle in the Pacific Northwest.
