Cyrus W Field clashed with a veteran tea taster in New York over proper brewing. Field, famed for tea ritual, judged the expert unfit after a brief attempt, calling him too old to learn. The tester later joked that Field, who pays $9 a pound, is indeed a crank on tea.

The Village of Franklin Oneida County Idaho will offer four thousand dollar coupon bonds for sale to the highest bidder on April 6 1912 at 2 pm. Bonds bear 6 percent interest payable semi annually and mature 20 years from issuance with redeemable after ten years. Bids must meet par value plus accrued interest and include a four hundred dollar certified check.
