New test for water pollutants devised at Rocketdyne
Aerospace scientists at Rocketdyne North American Rockwell report a quick method to detect organic pollutants in water. The process heats samples to break pollutants into gases, then analyzes components with math and a computer to identify substances. Initial tests detect up to four pollutants in minutes, with plans to expand to twenty. It will take years before state and local agencies can use it.
