Lakewood Open Space Plan Sparks City Debate
Lakewood moves to designate parks flood channels and rights of way as space. The Planning and Environment Commission will seek land for open space and recreation, replacing an interim element by next year. Five existing advisory groups are reorganized into a new commission with planning environment recreation and safety duties. Applications from residents are being sought. Also noted are upcoming health clinic tests for diabetes and sickle cell anemia with morning appointments at 2655 the Avenue and a bicycle car crash injuring a 13 year old near Wardlow and Pacific Place.
