California taxpayers in high brackets must prepay part of 1967 state income taxes. The Franchise Tax Board mails notices to about 360,000 taxpayers with bills of $200 or more from April 1967. Half of the April 1967 tax is due by October 31 as an advance payment for next year.
The El Mercado de Los Angeles, a planned four story Mexican market at 3426 E First St in East Los Angeles, received a $782000 Small Business Administration loan to finance 19 initial small businesses under a single parent corporation. The project will host 40 shops, with restaurants serving international foods and space allocated for parking. Local investors will hold stock in units not exceeding $1000 each.
