Concorde flies 3,380 miles from Washington to Paris in 3 hours 43 minutes, setting a new record for commercial flights. The Franco British jet carried 32 passengers on a trial North Atlantic run, reaching Mach 2 and 58,000 feet, with notable passengers including Sir Geoffrey Knight and Henri Ziegler. A spider was found in the cockpit instrument panel.
