Mike Harris Lifts Career With Holiday Inn Piano Mainstay
Boyish rage fades as Mike Harris embraces music. A Christmas joke hid a $3,500 Lowrey Holiday organ under the tree, sparking a professional organist career. After Coast Guard service and club gigs from Florida to L.A., he settled in North Long Beach at Tyro’s and later the Penthouse, building a broad repertoire and a thriving live show with a modified B3 Hammond, two Leslie speakers, piano, clavinette, drum beat, and melodica.
