Chaplain Includes Nixon in Prayers at Memorial Hospital
Former President Nixon remains in Memorial Hospital for phlebitis with chaplains praying daily for him and his family. Rev. Martin A. Schlueter says Nixon has not requested spiritual counsel but staff would assist if asked. Other clergy and a Quaker pastor have shown interest in visiting. The chapel Bible opened to Luke 8:43 48 relating to the healing of a hemorrhaging woman, a message the chaplain notes may reflect Nixon’s condition.
