Ex-Shipping Chief St Sure Dies at 65 in California
St Paul native and former chairman of the Pacific Maritime Association died Sunday at his Piedmont home from a heart attack. He retired Sept 1 as chief negotiator and president after leading the 256 member employer group since March 1952 and helped forge the Mechanization and Modernization Agreement with the waterfront union.

Jet crashes into San Francisco concourse. no injuries
A Pacific Airlines jet taxiing to unload at San Francisco International Airport crashed six feet into a concourse. No injuries were reported. PAL executive George Galvin cited possible brake failure. About 30 passengers waited at Gates 34-36 of Concourse D when the plane, Flight 242 from Los Angeles with 130 passengers, veered and its cockpit area broke windows. one wing wrapped around a vertical beam.
