White House installs $97,000 stainless kitchen upgrade
A new stainless steel kitchen costing 97 000 dollars was installed on the White House ground floor to replace outdated equipment. A modern fire protection system is being added throughout the mansion by National Park Service electricians. The project, done during August while the First Family was away, also includes a floor replacement and improved lighting and convection ovens that cut cooking times. Equipment donated by firms raised the total value, with ongoing fire proofing in the family quarters and other areas under renovation.
