Autumn brings cool air across the U S with rain and temperature drops
The Associated Press reports a seasonal front spreading cool, humid air from the Rockies to the Great Lakes and into the Northeast. Rain totals near one inch fell in parts of New York and into New England over six hours while the Southeast saw showers. Temperatures dropped 20 to 30 degrees from Sunday morning, with 30s in North Dakota and Minnesota and 50s elsewhere, warmer in the East with 70s and desert areas in the 80s. In Palo Alto, a 1000 pound Anchor Cafe safe on wheels vanished, taking $2,000 in cash and checks.
