Witness Testimony Shapes Fragging Trial In Vietnam Case
A prosecution witness and former Army buddy of Py. Billy D. Smith testified the man fleeing the explosion that killed two officers in Vietnam was not Smith. Curtis said heroin use impaired his observation and acknowledged past statements about fragging. Miller, another ex-soldier, testified that threats against three officers were common in the unit, while the Army alleged Smith planted a grenade to target Rigby and Willis, killing Farland and Delwo.
