Nixon Confidence Drops as Public Trust Narrows
Harris survey shows Nixon personal confidence at 83 percent after a nine month fall from 61 percent earlier. Across 15 policy areas 1,437 households mid late August to early September rated his performance. Foreign policy scored higher than domestic, with peace and relations with Russia his strongest points. Domestic ratings declined notably on the economy and handling protesters, while optimism for a settlement in the Middle East remained low.
