Morse seeks re election in 1968 at Oregon AFI CIO meet
Morse gathered 101 votes from delegates and guests at the Oregon AFI CIO convention, trailing Democrat Robert Duncan who received 269. Duncan, defeated by Republican Mark Hatfield in 1966, contrasts with Morse on Viet Nam policy. Morse opposed the policy. Duncan supported it. Morse also opposed the 1966 machinists strike against major airlines. Washington report notes Jens Otto Krag will visit Sept 27 to address the National Press Club and dine with President Johnson.
