Judge denies two Corona defense bids in mass murder trial
FAIRFIELD UPI Two defense motions in the Jan Corona mass murder trial were denied in chambers by Superior Court Judge Richard Patton. The judge also rejected a 14 day delay request to prepare a motion to dismiss the charges. Hawks contempt action, reporters sealed sources, and a petition by journalists followed. Corona, 38, a Yuba City farm labor contractor, is charged with murdering 25 itinerant farm workers and burying their bodies along the Feather River.
