State financed Long Beach handicapped study under way

A three year pilot project seeks to assess the residential care needs of chronically handicapped residents under 65 with normal mentality in Long Beach. State funds of 550000 finance the effort, conducted by the Long Beach Health Department and Crippled Children's Society of LA County, with invitations sent to health and welfare groups and a reception scheduled at the Long Beach Regional Center.

Huntington Beach Acts on Developing Shore Plan

L A Supervisors to Be Honored at County Fair

County officials will be honored at the Pomona County Fair with a Festival of the Horse at 7 15 pm in the Carnation Ring. The event features a display of Thoroughbred Arabian American saddlebred Morgan quarter palomino standardbred hockey Belgian Appaloosa Tennessee walking and pinto horses along with Welsh and Shetland ponies. The Westminster Lions Band performs in the fair amphitheater at noon, with drum majors Glenn Carter and Linda Borgerson appearing. The fair runs through Oct 2.
