Texas gas law sparks nationwide satire on sharing
A WashingtonToday column mocks a Texas Legislature gas sales ban by imagining similar limits in Maine Kentucky and the District of Columbia. The piece argues regional protectionism could spark sectional tensions, crowding out campaign events and even delaying elections, as shortages push areas to hoard scarce resources. It ends noting every region covets what others have and sharing is essential.

Teamsters UFW clash over multi grower vote in California
In Sacramento a formal hearing before the Agricultural Labor Relations Board addressed the Teamsters bid for a statewide multi employer election covering 56 growers. The UFW opposed the plan saying it would curb workers right to self organize and complicate contacts with workers. The board delayed ballot counts on 40 Salinas area ranches as it weighs the legality and practicality of a single election run by the two unions.
