DOJ says it will present two perjury cases to grand jury
The Justice Department defended its stance against Senate Rackets Committee criticism and announced it is ready to present two perjury cases referred by the committee to a grand jury. Assistant Attorney General Malcolm Anderson said eight of fourteen referred cases were closed for lack of sufficient evidence, while six remain under study, including the two about to be presented. Kennedy voiced renewed disappointment at the perceived inaction but welcomed that actions may proceed.
