Psychologist links killer’s guilt to feared father influence

Long Beach psychiatrist Dr George D Demes testified that Deborah Joy Kantaeng believed she killed Danny Allen due to coercive control by her father, Robert Boyd, who died last June. He said she lived in fear, was in a fugue state during the Oct 3 shooting, and could only recall events under hypnosis or sodium amytal. The defense questioned the scope of the statements while witnesses described family dynamics, trauma, and later confessions dictated by the father. The trial rested on whether the 20 year old killer acted under paternal influence in Norwalk Superior Court.

The suit claims children suffered seizures and growth delays with parents told to consent or face exclusion. Attorney Suzanne Martinez says this is the first such case she knows. One mother says her son had epileptic fits days after dosing and appeared like a zombie. School physicians reportedly pressured prescriptions without proper exams or parental guidance.
