Uneasy Little Rock integrates high school desegregation
In Little Rock Arkansas on Tuesday and Friday, federal desegregation orders began at Central High School with about 13 students of color and mixed- race classes in grades 10 to 12. Local ministers urged calm and orderly conduct. Gov. Orval Faubus, facing tense scenes, urged patience as church leaders and the Greater Little Rock Ministerial Alliance sent messages to 250 area pastors.
