Hosmer seeks loosened limits on vitamins and minerals
California congressman Craig Hosmer told a House subcommittee that FDA rules defining any product containing more than 1.5 times the U S daily allowance as a drug would unfairly restrict vitamins and mineral supplements. He warned that people who use these products, which he says have not shown harm in any quantity, should not need prescriptions. He urged Congress to oppose the order while defending ordinary consumers as not being faddists or loonies.
