Public access to beach denied at Salt Creek

After a five hour public hearing the Orange County Board of Supervisors voted four to Wednesday against condemning a five foot wide path to provide public access to the beach at Sail Creek. In a separate action, officials approved reorganizing the Capistrano Bay Park and Recreation District to transfer 6300 acres including the five foot wide strip into County Service Area No 3. The move blocks any further efforts by the district to offer beach access below the Laguna Niguel development. The proposed route would have run from Davia Strand Road across the bluff to the beach below.
