HUD cuts will not slow California housing
Secretary George Romney assured Sen. Alan Cranston that a five percent HUD employment cut won't delay California housing applications. Cranston noted some subsidized housing applications in California take up to three years. Romney said a net 800 job reduction will speed processing by reallocating 400 staff to area and insured offices.
