Reagan charges McGovern forces keep Watergate alive

Gov. Reagan said McGovern's forces still control the national Democratic Party and want to keep Watergate alive to embarrass Republicans in 1976. He urged Georgia's GOP slate as a step toward an inflation-proof Congress and argued liberal Democrats undermine Ford's policies while AFL-CIO leaders claim veto-proof majorities. Reagan urged Americans to remember the 1972 mandate and insisted a Republican bid for the presidency would rely on reinforcing party principles.
