City to Cut Garbage Revenue With New Bid

Pigeon Drop Woman Gets Prison Term
An young Los Angeles woman was sentenced to state prison Monday after being convicted of trying to steal $1,000 from a Long Beach woman by a pigeon drop scheme. Carol Ann Carter, 23, received a months to 10 year term from Superior Court Judge George Dell. An accomplice, Annie Jewel Poole, 20, was remanded for a 90 day diagnosis to determine suitable punishment. Carter had a prior conviction for a similar offense involving a fake offer to share in nonexistent money.
